Tap Into the Numerous Prosperity Cycles This Month

We begin the month leading up to the May 7th new moon in Taurus. Taurus is a sign associated with stability, wealth, and financial security, so the area of your house to work with this month is the Prosperity gua. This is the back-left corner of your house, every room in your house, your workspace, and your land, when you divide your space into a grid of nine areas, similar to a tic tac toe board. Be sure to check your space from bottom to top … basement, main floor and upper floors. They all matter and they influence the overall flow of Wealth and blessings coming your way. The Wealth gua in your main living area might be in great shape. If the same area in the basement is clogged, overstuffed or full of junk, this could overpower the efforts in your main living area.

We also have fourteen prosperity cycles coming into range during May, so I encourage you to refresh your Prosperity gua and prosperity corners early in the month and clarify your goals so that you create momentum for yourself leading up to the May 23rd full moon.

May 16 – 18 are particularly good days for manifesting … so set your intentions accordingly. In addition, May 12th thorough June 7th is a super series of consecutive days that bode well for prosperity and abundance. Align your personal energy and that of your space so that you can take advantage of these rare cycles.

Prior to May 7th
One of the first things I recommend is to remove all clutter from your prosperity gua and the back left corners of every room, as well as the back left corner of your land or yard. Clutter is anything that you don’t use or love. If you have items in these areas that have been sitting idle for a while or gathering dust., re-evaluate them. Remove them if you don’t use them or they no longer bring you joy. Refresh or re-energize them if you need them and/or plan to use them again. The saying “use them or lose them” applies here. Keep items in your Prosperity gua that have purpose and meaning to use. Remove the rest. Free up the space so that more prosperity and blessings flow easily to you, without obstruction.

Clutter includes:

  • Items that don’t have a home,
  • piles that have been discarded, ignored or untouched,
  • things that you no longer identify with,

  • décor you don’t care about,
  • clothes that need to be put away,
  • books, magazines, catalogs, or periodicals left lying about,

  • tools left out in the open,
  • trash bins that aren’t emptied regularly,
  • accumulated dust from an area seldom used,

  • plants that need to be trimmed, refreshed, or even recycled
  • things that are broken or in disrepair
  • items stored in cabinets, drawers, or closets that you ignore, don’t use, or don’t care about

  • anything and everything that you don’t use or love.

In particular, be diligent about removing: paper piles, items that are broken or in disrepair, items that no longer (or never) bring you joy, dead or dying plants or flowers, clothes that no longer fit, etc. Thin out overstuffed closets. Replace burnt out light bulbs. Check your photos and artwork. Were the photos taken during happy times? Is the artwork meaningful and uplifting? Remove items that have low energy or that don’t feel vibrant. Then vacuum and dust the area. Go deep into the corners, high and low. Wash the windows and clean all glass. Shift the energy of the area.

Check your plumbing and electric in this area as well. Problems with plumbing and electric have been known to hinder wealth and health. Make sure everything is working properly, If something needs to be repaired and it will require extra time or resources, put it on a “To Do” list with the intention of getting it done. This is a positive and uplifting action vs. being weighed down with a feeling that something is broken and you’re not in a position to get it fixed right now.

Blockages in your space

Blockages typically include something physical that prevents the chi from fully flowing, something broken or in disrepair, or something mental or emotional. Years ago, a client had a large cabinet that they didn’t like, in a key area of their home. It was a gorgeous, handmade piece of cabinetry that had been a wedding present to them. The problem was that it wasn’t their style and they never warmed to it. It was a huge physical and emotional obstacle for them. Physical due to its size and location. Emotional because they wrestled with it. It tugged at their heartstrings. They felt that they should love it, yet they didn’t. After chatting about it we identified a great solution. They would offer it to a family member who loved it! They did, the item was relocated, and soon after the client’s intention manifested.

Another client had a broken antique clock in their Wealth gua. The clock was a family heirloom and this client had been cheated out of an inheritance by a family member. The motif on the clock was of pirates on the high seas. What do pirates do? They steal … and that is exactly what happened to this client. She removed the clock, had it repaired and eventually sold it.

If you have anything like these items in your Wealth gua, either remove or re-energize them. You can recharge items by repairing and cleaning them. If you’re not in a position to repair an item, set an intention to do so. This is better than ignoring it or telling yourself that you can’t do it, it’s too hard or too expensive to do so, etc.

Although I come across many discarded items in Wealth guas, the main culprit is unintentional neglect, accumulated dust and debris. This is easily remedied through a good cleaning. Putting your energy and attention into your space doesn’t cost money and it can do wonders to activate sluggish energy.

If you have time, also work with the Helpful People and Travel gua. This is diagonally opposite the Prosperity gua, in the front right corner of your spaces. The Prosperity and Wealth gua is also known as Fortunate Blessings. It works hand-in-hand- with the Helpful People and Travel gua, which is about the right people showing up at the right time. Do the same thing in this area … clear out all clutter, open up blocked or congested areas and create a flow of fresh, vibrant energy.

On May 7th
We have a new moon on May 7th. New moons represent a time for new beginnings. Do a meditation on this day and reflect on what you’d like to attract, create, or shift. Dream big and visualize the outcome. Believe it can happy, that you deserve it and that whatever you dream or visualize is possible. Afterall, if you don’t, it won’t come to you. If you do, it may.

A Bit About the Wealth Gua …
The feng shui color for Wealth is purple. Other supportive colors are green, gold and red. A little bit goes a long way. Use colors that inspire you and bring in the feng shui colors in small amounts if they are not a part of your décor in any particular gua. Healthwise, the Wealth gua is associated with your hips and legs. Do you have hip trouble or will you be having hip replacement surgery? If so, refresh your Wealth gua for good fortune and a successful outcome.

Tips to Energize Your Wealth Gua

After you’ve tidied up or cleaned your Wealth gua and Wealth corners, place something nice in each area that lifts your energy. If you already have what you like there, simply refresh the energy. I like to do this by cleaning the item or items and doing the Three Secrets Reinforcement. If you need guidance for the Three Secrets, contact me.

There are many options, depending on your room. Some of my favorite items for Wealth guas and wealth corners include:

  • Fresh flowers or a beautiful plant,
  • A lovely mirror hung high enough to see your full head
  • A water feature

  • A picture of water or a waterfall flowing toward you or into the room
  • A light or lights … make sure they work
  • A treasure box with something that reminds you of wealth and abundance

  • A hanging crystal, one crystal or a cluster of crystals … amethyst is a good one
  • Something green, gold, purple or red
  • Something that reminds you of abundance and wealth.

The Wealth and Prosperity Gua is energized by the Wood element. Water enhances Wood. Thus, Water and Wood are helpful elements, balanced by Fire, Earth and Metal. Here’s a reminder about the energy of the Five Elements:

DO have representations of Wood and Water energy in your Wealth Gua:

Wood energy is about vibrancy, growth and expansion. Wood is represented by:

  • Fresh flowers, plants, and trees
  • Floral fabrics and patterns
  • Vertical stripes and tall columns
  • Green and blue

Water energy enhances flow and reflective, philosophical qualities. It is represented by:

  • Water features and water itself
  • Mirrors, windows, glass, reflective and shiny surfaces
  • Black and very dark colors
  • Free form, wavy and symmetrical shapes
  • Pictures of lakes, rivers, harbors, ocean views

Use Fire, Earth and Metal to Balance the energies in your Wealth gua:

Fire brings dazzling, sparkling energy to a space. It is represented by:

  • Fire, flames, lights, sunlight, candles
  • Triangles, pyramids, diamond, and cone shapes
  • People and animals, as well as pictures and sculptures of people and animals
  • Electronics and electrical items
  • Red, burgundy and the red palette

Earth energy grounds and anchors your space. Earth items include:

  • Wooden furniture (because it’s harvested wood)
  • Pottery, earthenware, bricks, and clay
  • Seashells and natural items
  • Square shapes
  • Oversized or heavy furniture that hugs the floor
  • Yellow, gold, brown and autumn/earth tones.

Metal energy helps bring clarity to a space. Metal items include:

  • Physical metal: gold, silver, brass, aluminum, etc.  (pots & pans, lamps, picture frames, art and sculptures)
  • Marble, granite, flagstone
  • Natural crystals, gems and rocks dug from deep within the earth
  • Circles, oval and arch shapes
  • White, gray, and pastel shades.

Enhancing Problem Areas

When you enhance an area from a feng shui perspective, you’re bringing more attention and energy to it. Do this if the area is in good shape. If it’s not, I recommend that you improve the space first or set an attention to do so prior to doing any significant feng shui cures or enhancements. Think of this as bringing your space to neutral, rather than activating an area that doesn’t have clear, coherent, or abundant energy.

One way to do this is to write your intention (using positive words, in the present tense, and just as if you have it now), and place it in a red envelope in the respective gua of the room. For the Wealth gua, use the back-left corner. Alternatively, you might place a picture of the way you’d love the room to look, in this area. You can also do a Vision Board and include images and intentions on that. The important point is that you can take positive action without inadvertently setting the wrong energy in motion.

What Are Your Favorite Wealth Gua Enhancements?

One of the participants in our Prosperity Study Group used a few mirrors to enhance the Prosperity corners of his office. Shortly thereafter, he received a job offer that he has been hoping would come through. It did and he recently started his new job.

What are your favorite enhancements to your Wealth gua? Tell me. I’d love to hear from you!

May 23rd Full Moon … Reflect on What is Happening
Things come to light at each full moon. It’s also a time to release what’s no longer working for you. May 23rd is a excellent day to do a meditation reflecting on what has happened since the May 7th new moon. If you set intentions on that day or around the new moon, what are you noticing?

Tune in and pay attention to what comes your way during the prosperous month of May! In particular, be on alert from May 12th through June 6th. Set your intentions, re-vitalize your space, and then tune in and ride the wave of prosperity and well-being. Allow this energy to carry you through the Memorial Day holiday and into a summer of fun well-being.
