Trauma is a person’s emotional response to a tragic event, such as war, an accident, separation and abandonment, poor parenting, sexual abuse, natural disasters, and more. People often carry it for years and now epigenetics is indicating that it’s being passed from one generation to another via your cells. Trauma alters one’s behavior and health.
You can inherit trauma from your parents and grandparents and pass it along to your children. You can also experience it first hand and also pass it along unknowingly. It’s helpful to reflect on your family history and explore the patterns. In my family, I see how trauma going back to the Irish potato famine has been passed along in my family, in the form of patterns of poverty and hard work. My parents worked hard to overcome hardships, yet some of their children (my siblings) continue to keep the patterns alive. Some of my siblings also married into families that carry patterns related to illness, disempowerment, poverty and struggle, while others overcame them.
According to the CDC, “Epigenetics is the study of how your behaviors and environment can cause changes that affect the way your genes work. Unlike genetic changes, epigenetic changes are reversible and do not change your DNA sequence, but they can change how your body reads a DNA sequence.” Methods such as acupressure tapping restore balance to your energy field.
If you are carrying family related trauma, the good news is that you can let it go and rebalance your energy field. Acupressure tapping is an excellent method for this, without reliving the trauma or repeating the experience. You acknowledge the problem by identifying the issue or related fear that you’re carrying. Then you gauge or benchmark the intensity level you’re feeling. After this, you tap a series of acupressure points and then wrap up with a series of affirmations. You repeat the process until the issue is no longer a problem for you. You can learn more by researching the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
Peg provides relief to clients via the Emotional Freedom & Healing Technique. This is a very gentle and effective process to release deeply held beliefs and emotions from your body. It involves a combination of tapping acupressure points, repeating affirmations and breathing deeply to release fears and limiting beliefs. One the limiting belief or emotion surfaces and you tap it away, it is gone forever. When the patterns are deeply embedded, multiple layers may need to be released. You repeat the session until you no longer feel the emotion. It’s easy and painless.
Here's what some clients have had to say after an EF&H session:
“You were SO helpful while working with me way back in 2015 to overcome my fear of spinal surgery. Not only did you succeed in that, but you also helped to overcome some family issues that I didn't even know were there! You rock!!!”
“Your work with me and on me, has resulted in the best month of sales I've ever had in February. It worked. Now I am reading your book "Money is an Energy Game" and it all makes sense. I've written my own Prosperity contract and I am working on my way to building a phenomenal company. Regardless of what is looming ahead of us. I know I can do it. Thank you so much. You have changed the way I've been looking at things, and you are going to play a part in how I make things different for women in society. It will take a decade, but it will happen.”
“Thank you again for your simply amazing guided emotional release with acupressure - this is a transformative breakthrough on truly helping domestic abuse survivors and people trying to overcome PTSD, severe emotional trauma and other life challenges so we can all heal beautifully”

A September 2021 article in verywell health says that “Trauma is a person's emotional response to a tragic event (for example, accidents, sexual violence, and natural disasters). Long-term trauma is marked by having flashbacks, unpredictable emotions, and physical symptoms like nausea and headaches.”
Researchers in a Psycom article say time will tell how the trauma from Covid influences future generations.
This July 2019 article in Science indicates that a parent’s emotional trauma may change their children’s biology. Many young parents feel tremendous stress as they work two jobs while raising their kids and also care for elder parents and grandparents. Also consider the implications of raising children during the Covid 19 years, family loss and devastation in wildfire, storm and flood locations, stress from daily health and work challenges and more. In addition, the children growing up in the many war zones have known trauma their entire lives.
