October 2022 Feng Shui Forecast ... Cultivate Patience

October 3: Mercury goes Direct

October 9: Full Moon in Aries

October 25: New Moon and Solar Eclipse … Wealth Gua

October 30th: Mars Retrograde Planning Cycle Begins

October is a month to cultivate and practice patience The world is a bit topsy turvy and things are in a delicate balance. Mercury slowly moves forward beginning October 3rd, as momentum is also building towards the October 9th full moon. Conditions may appear confused and disruptive. I’ve heard the energy through mid-January described as likely to be erratic, tense, heavy, and harsh. You might feel squeezed in certain situations. The more you can stay centered and grounded, the more you can observe these patterns without being consumed by them.

October 9 Full Moon … Reflect on Partnerships and Marriage

The full moon is a time to note what’s coming to light and being revealed, since the new moon two weeks earlier. It’s a favorable time to release whatever you no longer need, including patterns and habits that you’ve outgrown and are ready to move beyond. Letting them go enables you to create room for dreams, desires, opportunities, and activities to come to you.

In your home, yard, and work area, the Partnership gua correlated with the September 25 new moon. Did you clean, adjust or activate this area (the back-right corner) recently? If not, do so before October 9th. Review my suggestions from last month for easy ways to shift the energy in your Partnership areas. Then do a mediation on October 9 and reflect on the intentions you set. If you set intentions a few weeks ago, look for signs that the seeds you set have taken root.

If you have a bathroom, powder room or laundry room in the back right corner, take care to keep the energy flowing smoothly. The plumbing and water in these rooms can block a free flow of energy and often requires balancing. You can balance using color, physical items such as mirrors (with intention), earthy items, and decor. How to do it depends on the room and your preferences and design styles. There are many options. The most important actions to take are to remove clutter, fix anything that’s broken and to keep the areas clean and in good shape. See the September blogpost for details about the Partnership gua.

Mid-October: Clean and Energize Your Wealth Gua

Amidst the many disruptive cycles this month, we also have some very nice energy related to prosperity. You can come into alignment with this by tuning in and energizing your Wealth Gua after the October 9th full moon. This is the back left corner of your home, every room in your home and your office or workspace, as well as your yard. I encourage you to work with these areas prior to the October 25 New Moon and Solar Eclipse.

The October 25th solar eclipse, at 2 degrees Scorpio, is related to the use of power and working cooperatively with others. It can affect people who have important planets within 5 degrees … thus, 27 degrees Libra to 7 degrees Scorpio.

Your Wealth gua relates to your prosperity as well as the blessings in your life. If you are influenced by the eclipse, consider how power, prosperity, and financial blessings intersect in your life. Are there any particular patterns or themes to adjust, correct or strengthen? The Wealth gua is energized by Wood energy and health-wise it relates to your hips, legs and big bones.

The Wealth Gua is Governed by Wood Energy

In balance, Wood energy is about growth and vitality. It is active, confident, effectively handles stress, takes appropriate risks, works through obstacles and leads effectively. When there is too little Wood, you might feel apathetic, sluggish, bogged down, feel emotionally sensitive, or be irritable. In excess, Wood shows ups as angry, hostile, impulsive, irresponsible and impatient.

In nature, Wood energy is represented by trees, plants and flowers. The vibrant green leaves that burst out in spring best represent the color of Wood energy. Wood energy is also represented by floral fabrics, vertical stripes (upward growth of trees) and tall rectangles, columns (again, think: trees). When you think of Wood energy, think of a vital life force and life giving energy. Note that wood furniture is harvested wood, and takes on earth qualities, rather than wood.

In the fall we have a seasonal shift of Wood energy. The trees and plants provide a gorgeous show of color prior to pulling in their energy and preparing for winter. Trees shed their leaves and flowers drop their blooms. Energy goes deep into the roots prior to starting a new cycle of growth and abundance the following spring.

Water nurtures trees and plants. As a result, Water strengthens Wood in nature and feng shui (which follows nature). Having Water energy or a representation of Water in your Wealth gua, helps to cultivate prosperity and the blessings in your life. Water is represented by water and water features, glass, mirrors and windows, reflective surfaces, cut crystal, black and very dark colors, free form, wavy or symmetrical shapes, and pictures of water (lakes, harbors, ocean views, waterfalls, etc).

Having representations of Wood and Water energy in your prosperity guas and corners helps to attract more prosperity to you. In my home I have a salt lamp in my overall Wealth gua, a picture of a beautiful waterfall in my living room Wealth gua, a stained glass mirror in my bedroom Wealth gua (it doesn’t face the bed), and a feng shui flute at the Wealth angle in my office Wealth gua, among other prosperity features.

Clear Out What You No Longer Need

Just as the trees and plants are shedding what they no longer need, it’s time for you to do the same. Reassess things you’re holding onto that you don’t use or don’t love. If you love it, keep it; if you don’t, let it go. Clear excess on the surface as well as what’s deep in your closets. Creating space frees you and your energy from artificial constraints. It’s liberating. When your energy is free, open, and expansive, you attract more prosperous and abundant situations, circumstances, and resources.

Connection to the Helpful People and Travel Gua

The Wealth gua in the back-left corner of your space works symbiotically with the Helpful People and Travel gua in the opposite diagonal corner, the front-right of your home, every room, your yard and your workspace. This is about the right people showing up in your life at the right time. Spiritual guides, deities, angels, and other nonphysical helpers are also connected with this gua.

If you’d like to travel anywhere, activate your Helpful People and Travel gua and place reminders or symbols of where you’d like to go in this area. The Helpful People gua is ruled by Metal energy. Also, Earth strengthens Metal. Having a predominance of Metal and Earth qualities in the Helpful People and Travel gua helps to activate this energy.

Wealth and Helpful People Guas, and your Health

From a health perspective, the Wealth gua relates to your hips and big bones. The Helpful People and Travel gua rules your head and brain. If you have any imbalances or health problems related to these parts of your body, check your space. Remove clutter, alleviate blockages, and be sure that your plumbing, electric, and windows are in good working order. Create a positive flow of energy and encourage it to meander throughout your space. Also, get proper medical attention for long term or serious problems.

The Five Element Connection

The Wealth gua is a Wood area and the Helpful People and Travel gua is a metal area in the feng shui bagua. Wood energy is strengthened by Water and Metal energy is strengthened by Earth. In the Wealth area, Water and Wood can predominate, while in the Helpful People and Travel area, Metal and Earth elements should be the most prominent. The Wealth gua is depleted by too much Fire, Earth, and Metal energy, while the Helpful People and Travel gua is depleted by too much Water, Wood and Fire energy.

Study the patterns in your space and adjust according to your intentions. Place Wealth reminders in the back left corners of your spaces and Helpful People and Travel reminders in the front right of your spaces. The feng shui color for the Wealth gua is purple. A little green, red and/or gold are also supportive. White and/or gray area the colors for the Helpful People and travel gua. Yellow, brown, and gold also work well here.

Water energy helps to create flow. It also brings reflective and philosophical qualities. Water is represented by:

  • Water features and water itself,
  • Mirrors, windows, glass, reflective and shiny surfaces,
  • Black and very dark colors,
  • Free form, wavy and symmetrical shapes,
  • Pictures of lakes, rivers, harbors, ocean views.

Wood energy is about growth and expansion. Wood is represented by:

  • Fresh flowers, plants, and trees,
  • Floral fabrics and patterns,
  • Vertical stripes and tall columns,
  • Vertical rectangles,
  • Green and blue.

Fire brings dazzling, sparkling energy to a space. It is represented by:

  • Fire, flames, lights, sunlight, candles,
  • Triangles, pyramids, diamond, and cone shapes,
  • People and animals,
  • Electronics and electrical items,
  • Red, burgundy and the red palette.

Earth energy grounds and anchors your space. Earth items include:

  • Pottery, earthenware, bricks, and clay,
  • Seashells and natural items,
  • Wood furniture,
  • Square shapes,
  • Oversized or heavy furniture that hugs the floor,
  • Yellow, brown and earth tones.

Metal energy helps bring clarity to a space. Metal items include:

  • All metal: gold, silver, brass, aluminum and more (pots & pans, lamps, picture frames…),
  • Marble, granite, flagstone,
  • Natural crystals and rocks dug from deep in the earth,
  • Circles, oval and arch shapes,
  • White, gray, and pastel shades.

Update Your Wealth Gua Prior to October 25th

Refresh your Wealth gua and the Wealth corners in each room, prior to October 25th. These are the back-left corners, or the far left corners from where you enter the room and your house. As you make changes, remember to do the Three Secrets Reinforcement with each cure or enhancement that you place. The Three Secrets process is a way to strengthen your intention and to transfer it to the related object you place or the action you take. Contact Peg if you need the process for the Three Secrets Reinforcement.

Pay Attention to Your Thoughts!

Giving thanks for all you have is a great way to attract more of it. If you’re feeling stressed about finances or impoverished abut your situation, you’ll attract more of that. Remember that whatever you focus on is what you draw to yourself. If you’d like to strengthen prosperity and wealth in your life, reenergize the corresponding areas in your home (back-left corners) and also pay attention to your personal energy … your thoughts and feelings. If your home is in great shape, yet you are worried about your finances, the worry energy will take precedence and drive what happens to you. Thus, attracting what you want is a matter of bringing both yourself and your space into proper alignment. There’s an art and science to this and it requires ongoing focus and attention.

October 25th New Moon Meditation

Do a meditation that aligns with the energy of the new moon on October 25th. Set intentions for your finances, overall prosperity, and the blessings in your life. Take some time to write them down, sit quiet and then reflect on experiencing the end result of your intentions. Avoid focus on how they will unfold. Leave that part up to the Universe. Your job is to hold the intention and to hold the space for your intentions and dreams to come into form. Let go of worry about anything that you may feel is not happening and put expectations in place that your intentions are happening. At the beginning of a process, much happens beneath the surface or our of view, Trust that all is well and set the expectation that you’ll begin to see results at the proper time.

October 30th: Mars Retrograde … Excellent Planning Cycle

Mars, the planet the represents your physical energy, motivation, goals, and actions, goes retrograde until January 12th. This cycle comes up approximately every two years. This is a time to plan for the future, rather than start something new. Use this cycle to look ahead and identify your direction for the next two years. Write your plans down. Then set them aside and enjoy the holidays with family and friends.
